Κύριε βοήθει τῷ σῷ δούλῳ Στεφάνῳ βασιλικῷ πρωτοσπαθαρίῳ καὶ ἐκ προσώπου Ἑλλάδος.

Lord, help your servant Stephanos, imperial protospatharios and ek prosopou of Hellas.

Commentary

Line 5 (rev.): the letter Ε is secure; the base of the letters Λ, Λ, and Δ are off the flan, but their triangular shapes are clearly visible. For the ek prosopou, see Listes, 342. For another ek prosopou of Hellas, see Seyrig , no. 180. The seal of an ek prosopou of Athens is published by Laurent, Orghidan, no. 209, cf. DO Seals 2, § 9.
