Translation

Μιχαὴλ πρωτοσπαθάριος ἐπὶ τοῦ Χρυσοτρικλίνου καὶ τουρμάρχης.

Michael protospatharios epi tou Chrysotriklinou and tourmarches.

Commentary

The contrast between the crude epigraphy on the reverse and well wrought image on the obverse suggests that one of the dies was new, the other re-used.
