Commentary
The reading of the two sides of the seal is ambiguous--the seal can be read as "Theodore, son of Theodore the patrikios" or as "Theodore the patrikios, son of Theodore." The latter is the more likely of the two, as the seal would more likely contain a title of its owner--not of its owner's father.
