Commentary

The reverse monogram admits of several possibilities; it could be read ἀπὸ ὑπάτων καὶ νοταρίου or even ἀπὸ ὑπάτων καὶ πατρικίου; however, there is no π visible, although there may be a worn ligature with the ν. Additionally, a σ could be found within the κ at the right terminus of the cruciform, which could indicate that this monogram contains a name in the dative, perhaps indicating that the obverse name is a patronymic. Possibilities if this σ is found for the resolution of the reverse are Κωνσταντίνῳ νοταρίῳ, Νικοστράτῳ, and Στρατονικίῳ.
