Commentary
Eight seals from three boulloteria belonging to Sergios patrikios and strategos are in the collections of Dumbarton Oaks and the Harvard Art Museums.
This group is possibly related to two other series belonging to a Sergios patrikios and strategos. The first has the same reverse inscription, but has a cruciform invocative monogram on the obverse (see, e.g., BZS.1955.1.1148; Zacos–Veglery, no. 2355a). The second uses the same obverse monogram as the first, but has a slightly different layout for the otherwise identical reverse inscription (see, e.g., BZS.1958.106.4745; Zacos–Veglery, no. 2356, incorrectly identified as strategos of Sicily).
