Translation

Βάρδᾳ, Χριστέ, φύλασσε τῷ Μουδρονίκῃ.

Christ, protect Bardas Moudronikes.

Commentary

If the abbreviation in the second line is read as Χριστέ (not as Κύριε), the inscription works properly as a metrical verse accommodating the family name Moudronikes.
