Commentary
Where comparable, the iconography and lettering of BZS.1958.106.672 resembles what we find on this specimen, but the poor state of the other seal prevents confirmation that it is from the same boulloterion. Zacos-Veglery misread the indiction number as a Δ rather than an and dated the specimen to 720/21. John hypatos is well attested as kommerkiarios from 720/21 to 730/31 (Zacos-Veglery, 160, table 14).
This is the province of Lykia as it appears on seals of kommerkiarioi. See ODB II, 1257-58.
