Commentary
In Zacos-Veglery, the first line is read [σ]α[φ?]ιω; the letter Τ, however, is quite certain. Thus the name, which could be Armenian, could be restored as Συμβατίῳ, (which is easy, although no such strategos of the Boukellarioi is attested in the eighth century), or as Τατζατίῳ, because a strategos of the Boukellarioi named Tatzates is attested in 778 (Theophanes, 451). It could also be read as [Εὐστρ]ατίῳ, but this requires more space than is available.
