Commentary

The meaning of the cross-topped Δ on the obverse is unknown. The name in the reverse monogram is not entirely certain; In addition to Sergios, Γεωργίου (George) is also possible, but less likely as the Ω would have to be found within the upper arms of the Χ, which would be strange as it is typical for an omega in that place within the cruciform monogram to be much more curved.
