Commentary

This is a strange seal; first of all, as with all such monogrammatic seals presenting two names, the relationship between the two is unclear. Is one a patronymic, or is it a partnership. Secondly, the letters in the reverse monogram do not share the same orientation. While the at the top matches that of the obverse, the Ρ is upside down at the bottom, while the Γ above it on the lower bar of the cruciform is backwards.
