Commentary

The reading of the placename Morava (either Μοράβων or Μοράβου) is by no means certain, though it seems likely on the basis of another seal included by Wassiliou-Seibt in her catalogue (no. 23). On the bishopric of Morava, see the commentary to BZS 1955.1.3001 linked below.
